Cafe Au Lait is a beautiful variety of dahlia that is beloved for its many subtle variations of peach and pink which combine together to create a garden masterpiece.   

This closeup view of that dahlia offers an intimate glimpse of what is one of my favorite flowers. 

I loved the challenge of painting this piece with only three colors:  one blue, one yellow and one red.  All those variations in peach and pink and green arise from blends of those three colors.
